Let us take a moment to reflect upon the lives and determination of nine undergraduate women striving to complete their education in the early 20th century. Let us remember the perilous times in which they lived. Let us be inspired by their dedication despite the challenges they would face.
As we celebrate the 117th Founders’ Day of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated®, let us recall our brave and bold founders who strove to create a brighter tomorrow and founded the first and finest sorority to cultivate high scholastic and ethical standards, help alleviate problems, and promote unity among college women.

Vice President Kamala Harris’ historic and extraordinary race to the nation’s highest office is one that no other African American woman has ever accomplished. While the outcome is not as millions of Americans would have hoped, we say, “Vice President Harris – we are PROUD of you!” Nothing can dim the light of your vision and your accomplishments. As Alpha Kappa Alpha women, we stand with you and lift you up.
Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated® broke the Guinness World Record during our 71st Boule in Dallas, Texas. It is a world record for assembling 8,500 hygiene kits within one hour. Mike Marcotte of Guinness World Records was at Boule to verify the sorority as the new record holder.
Alpha Kappa Alpha presented and donated these personal hygiene kits to Brenda Snitzer, Executive Director of The Stewpot which serves the unhoused in the Dallas community. She stated, “We can’t wait to see how these 8,500 hygiene kits are going to bring dignity and respect to those who are unsheltered in Dallas.” These kits are for The Stewpot and three other organizations: the Branch Homeless Shelter, Austin Street Center, and Family Gateway.
Alpha Kappa Alpha not only broke a record today, but we delivered on our mission to be ‘supreme in service to all mankind.’

Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated® convened our 71st Boule in Dallas, Texas “Soaring to Great Heights” with over 20,000 members in attendance. In addition to business sessions, this Boule offered certification training, forums, workshops, community service events, and other activities.
We advanced our essential programs of service to Strengthen Our Sisterhood™, Empower Our Families™, Build Economic Wealth™, Enhance Our Environment™, Advocate for Social Justice™, and Uplift our Local Community™ to galvanize our collective impact on our nation and the world.
