Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated® convened our 71st Boule in Dallas, Texas “Soaring to Great Heights” with over 20,000 members in attendance.  In addition to business sessions, this Boule offered certification training, forums, workshops, community service events, and other activities.

We advanced our essential programs of service to Strengthen Our Sisterhood™, Empower Our Families™, Build Economic Wealth™, Enhance Our Environment™, Advocate for Social Justice™, and Uplift our Local Community™ to galvanize our collective impact on our nation and the world.

Happy Founders’ Day, Sisters!

On this special day, we remember the trailblazing vision of the Original Nine Founders of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated®. These nine Howard University students created a sisterhood representing the true meaning of “Service to All Mankind.”  116 years later, Alpha Kappa Alpha is proud of more than 1,074 chapters and more than 360,000 initiated members in 11 nations and all states.

We are Soaring Internationally! Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated® International President & CEO, Danette Anthony Reed recently made a courtesy visit to The Bahamas Prime Minister Philip Davis.

President Reed was joined by esteemed members of the AKA Board of Directors including International Regional Director Carrie J. Clark, and officials Executive Director Jacquelyn Lewis Young  and International Protocol Committee Chairman Traci L. Washington.

President Reed shared with Prime Minister Davis our organization’s rich history and continued commitment to being trailblazers within the United States and Internationally. Including our efforts in The Bahamas through our local chapters, continuing positive change locally and globally.
