Thuane B. Fielding

Thuane Fielding is a Life Member and Silver Star member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated® who has remained an active and dedicated member of the Gamma Xi Omega Chapter since transferring from undergraduate membership. In recognition of her outstanding commitment and impact, she was honored by her chapter as Member of the Year. Mrs. Fielding also holds the distinction of being the first Legacy President of Gamma Xi Omega Chapter, serving as president in 2008 following in the footsteps of her mother, who served in the same role in 1968. She currently serves the South Atlantic Region as Co-Chairman of the South Atlantic Region Leadership Development Institute Committee.

Mrs. Fielding has also served the South Atlantic Region in a variety of impactful leadership capacities, including Co-Chairman for the 67th South Atlantic Region’s First Virtual Regional Conference in 2020; Representative to the International Program Committee from 2014–2018; Cluster VI Coordinator and Chairman of the Cluster Coordinators’ Council from 2010–2014;and member of the International Graduate Advisors’ Certification Committee from 2008–2010. Committed to service beyond the Sorority, Mrs. Fielding has served as Chairman of the City of Charleston Police Department’s Citizens Advisory Council and a member of the Charleston County School District 20 Constituent School Board.
