Countdown to Centennial Charter Day
As we count down 80 days to our Centennial Charter Day Celebration, did you know?
Julia Brogdon Purnell served as the South Eastern Region’s eleventh regional director. She was the third Regional Director to serve as Supreme Basileus. Under her administration, chapters were encouraged to set high goals and work hard to achieve them. Fifty-five percent of chapters purchased NAACP Life Memberships, scholarships were awarded in the amount of $11,000.00, sisterly relations activities were encouraged, and undergraduates led the fight for equal rights by participating in sit-ins and other protests.
In recognition of the Centennial Celebration of the South Eastern Region, Regional Director Mitzi Dease Paige would like to spotlight:
Kappa Pi Omega Chapter, chartered on February 29, 1976 in Dothan, AL. The chapter encompasses three cities: Dothan, Enterprise, and Ozark, AL.
