Delta Pi - Hosted a successful Breast Cancer Awareness Event October 1st.

Congratulations to the Alpha Sigma Chapter for receiving the following awards at the 87th Great Lakes Regional Conference :

Alpha Sigma- Hosted a self defense workshop. Attendees participated in lessons and demonstrations by instructor Benoit Kihhmbu and his team.

Alpha Lambda Chapter, University of Toledo, Toledo OH in conjunction with Graduate chapter Zeta Alpha Omega donated backpacks filled with school supplies and snack bags with inspirational words of encouragement. The backpacks were donated to mothers and their children at the Bethany House which is a Safe House for women who are survivors of domestic violence. The snack bags included a juice box, fruit snacks and cheese crackers.

Delta Pi Chapter in partnership with Zeta Theta Omega Chapter, held an informative program for Breast Cancer Awareness Community Impact Day at The University of Akron. Dr. Sylvia Ruff and other Zeta Theta Omega nurses presented topics on access to care, family history, knowing your breasts/what to look for, and risk factors. The students were able to feel a Model Breast with various sizes of lumps and received literature for further study. Ms. Tiffaney Holland, breast cancer survivor and CEO of “My Sister’s Keeper” gave a testimonial on her fight with cancer.
