Alpha Psi Omega Chapter Participates in the Pender County Schools Virtual Angel Tree

December 19, 2018

The Alpha Psi Omega Chapter, Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated®, participated in the Pender County Schools Virtual Angel Tree this holiday season. Pender County is an area that was hard hit by Hurricane Florence, experiencing severe flooding and displaced residents. This resulted in homelessness and many people relocated to transitional housing.

Operation AKA Assist, a sub-target of our International Program Target 3, focuses on initiatives to assist those in need in various communities by directing attention to the plight of the homeless, including homeless children, and homeless veterans. By partnering with Pender County Schools and the Virtual Angel Tree program, the chapter assisted a family with three children, two boys, and a girl, who had been adversely affected by Hurricane Florence.

The chapter members collected gifts and gift cards valued at around $550.00 and delivered them to Pender County High School on Wednesday, December 12, 2018.
